Für die junge Studentin Tree verwandelt sich der eigene Geburtstag in einen schrecklichen, immer wiederkehrenden Alptraum, in dem ein maskierter Unbekannter auftaucht und sie umbringt. Kurz darauf wacht Tree auf, als wäre nichts passiert, nur um überrascht festzustellen, dass sich ihr Geburtstag haargenau wiederholt – und somit auch ihr DEATHDAY. Wieder und wieder muss Tree nun den Tag ihres Todes durchleben und immer neue Wege finden, der Bedrohung durch den mysteriösen Fremden zu entkommen.
